I had such high hopes — but it was so bad. I couldn’t get past the classism and racism subtly and not so subtly strew across it all. I did read someone else’s comment about how it did magically make their middle school self crave fancy foods and sweets via its elaborate descriptions of them and I do feel that is indeed an impressive feat.
