Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera

4.0

Frida Kahlo was not only an iconic artist, but she was also a bold feminist. However, this biography put so much emphasis on Kahlo's love life that I found somewhat anachronistic and belittling. I'm missing the fact that Frida created a new avenue of expression among women artists to convey a long-suppressed rage against men. Despite all of that, this is a great introductory book to Frida's life.
