it’s a very complex book, and while i like it i find some parts of it extremely problematic and stereotypical. there is biphobia that is never addressed or called out, and evelyn hugo’s existence as bisexual and latina is built on harmful stereotypes. while im not sure i like unreliable narrators, like evelyn hugo, i do like how realistic and complex the book becomes as a result of it.
