Book of the Dead by Michael Northrop

2.0

Not a very well written book, parts of sentences would not quite match what was going on, and I had a hard time with some of the settings not being described enough to have a mental picture. I was also slightly underwhelmed with parts of the book that were a little bit too cliche. A person who looks evil but isn't, one of the people getting hurt near the end, just little things that have been done to death and been done better. This is a good story, just needed some polishing. It is a good introduction into the Egyptian theme. Basic gods, stories, and motifs are brought up in a way that would really lend to any classroom lessons. I know that Riordan opened the door for Egypt, but this book is a better stepping stone.
