Far Sector by N.K. Jemisin

4.0

I am not up to speed on the series that is behind this; heck, I barely remember the original Green Lantern. But I read GNs occasionally, enough to know this is one of the better ones.

Duh. Jemisin.

What I liked most about the Jemisin voice is the explicit "I've been everywhere but deep down I'm from Noo Yawk, from Brooklyn, and when shit happens we DEAL with it." Ideal for this character.

The nominally-different races play out as if they were all human, which makes it easier to tell the story, I guess.

The graphics lost me during the action scenes; all I could tell was that Jo had done something Important, but I couldn't tell what, to whom, or to what result. But that's normal for me and GN's.

The limitations on Jo's powers were important; without that, she can do almost anything, and there goes the drama.

Did Marth have to look so Klingon? That is balanced, though, by Jo being proportioned a bit more like a normal person than in many cases.

Worth reading, and this version's good for telling the whole story in one go.
