This was Zoe's story. Wyatt and Darcy have both moved out so she decides to rent a room in her house for some extra money. Her first renter is Parker, a friend of Wyatt's. She thinks he's her blind date so she kisses him to kind of see if there are any sparks/get the ball rolling but its not her blind date; in fact he stands her up. But she and Parker end up having amazing chemistry, which is unfortunate for her because he's only here for a short time and he definitely doesn't do relationships. Parker is supposed to be on vacation but he's really chasing a big game hunter/smuggler until he finds out that he made a deal with ATF and FBI for a militia group. But when he shows up at the airport and holds Zoe at gunpoint Parker decides that saving her is more important than his job. Parker leaves to go back to DC to deal with the fallout and she doesn't hear from him for a week. Then, he shows up at her house and tells her that he didn't get fired, but he did quit and he took a job with the ATF because it would be based in Sunshine, with no traveling. This was cute and sweet and everything I have come to expect from a Jill Shalvis book.
