I loved this so much and everything that happened in the book just seemed to work for me. I loved the main characters Briana and Jacob and their overall relationship. I found myself rooting for them throughout the entire story. The main trope in this book dealt with miscommunication, a trope I thought I didn’t like, but for this it worked. These characters spent so much time in their head, trying to figure out what the other ones true intentions were instead of talking about it and I was here for it. It built up so much tension between them and at times even frustrated me, but their issues and the reasons why they didn’t communicate just felt so real and believable. Jacob deals with high levels of anxiety and I appreciated how it was depicted in the story because I felt his anxiety through the page. We also learn about what people have to go through when waiting for organ donations and how that can affect not only the person waiting to receive the organ, but their loved ones around them who essentially have to watch them suffer. I also really liked that this touched on how people need to heal from an old relationship before trying to jump into a new one. Both of these characters dealt with bad breakups and came together with baggage they both needed to sort out. I just loved how each of these characters was there for the other, especially how Jacob was there for Briana. I adored this story and will absolutely pick up more from this author.
