I needed a little break from dark romance and what better way to do that than with a billionaire romance containing a marriage of convenience trope.
Definitely enjoyed that they came from equal backgrounds, not one of them having the upper hand and all the power. Which tends to be a common stretch with billionaire romances, so I liked this way of approaching the story.
I loved Tatum and Kingston. Their dislike for each other kept going until around 40-45%. The story dipped and flattened a little around 55 to 65% into it and I quickly scanned most of the words.
Truly I wished that both characters would’ve just opened up to each other quicker. Just taking away the doubts and words. Tatum at some point became a little annoying when she doubted Kingston’s actions. I get to why she did, but it was a very fine line to walk on to where it became a little repetitive.
Other than that, I enjoyed this story. Definitely a story that will remain with me for a while and one that had me feeling emotions. Like making my stomach plummet and twist & turn, along with a few tears shed here and there.
