I really enjoyed the mysterious magical vibes of Caraval and the evocative writing.
That said, I didn’t entirely love the MFC Scarlett, or her sister Donatella. Scarlett’s naivety was a little grating at times, but I think this is largely a function of the book being YA.
I enjoyed it enough to continue with the series, but wanted to love it more.
