The Old Nurse's Story is a really intriguing story. I adored Gaskell's style, she wrote in a really suspenseful way. For such a short story, Gaskell managed to come up with a cohesive plot as well as memorable characters. The other story in this book wasn't as interesting, I think - the narrator wasn't quite as engaging and his story wasn't as engaging.
