This was a quick read and while it was enjoyable, I felt like it needed more. The pace felt slow in the beginning and then rushed at the end. The relationship between the FMC and MMC felt like it went from 0 to 100 very quickly and while ok,  that transition felt choppy. I love this author's historical romances where I'm invested in the relationships of the characters but came away with just a 'meh' in this one. I did love the magical elements and wanted more of the FMC's grandmother's backstory. Overall, not a bad book, just a satisfactory read when you want a quick, light escape.
