Love, Holly by Emily Stone

2.0

I was terribly bored and knew from the first couple chapters basically everything that was going to happen in this story. A young woman tries to heal a rift in her elderly pen pal’s family in time for Christmas, all while falling in love—and maybe even reuniting with her own family. It’s not a romance, nor is it a Christmas/holiday read. It’s terribly depressing if I’m being honest. I actually contemplated DNF’ing it a few times but with the end of the reading year wrapping up I figured I might as well push through, so I can say I completed another book. I read this author’s debut Always, in December and quite enjoyed it. Last year I read One Last Gift and I didn’t enjoy it. And now this year I read this one and I also did not like it. I’m thinking maybe I need to cross Emily Stone off my list for a while, or at least until I hear some rave reviews or something.
