There were parts of this book that I loved and found painfully relatable, but then there were other parts that just lost me. The prose is quite nice though and the common complaint about the overlap between authorial voice and character voice doesn’t bother me much, but I suppose it could if I had read some of this authors more autobiographical stuff.

It really was so close to being added to my this is me shelf.
