(i actually started the tandem read a month ago but i had to take a break so i technically read this in a week)
wow. just wow. this book and Queen of Shadows… an absolute masterpiece. i know sim’s keyboard was on FIRE. the writing? the plot? the tension? the hints? the buildup? the bringing together several books worth of foundations and seeds that were planted? the final fight? i truly don’t know what to say. just… wow. this wasn’t just amazing but epic.
aelin .. i have no words for her. i love her so much. so so much. and manon? i loved her before but i truly love and adore and admire her now. same for lysandra. and elide. such powerful smart amazing women. i love all 4 but aelin and manon are so special to me. brilliant all around.
listen, rhys is my favorite sjm man.. but DORIAN? lord have mercy that man is a fucking treasure. he’s pookie. idk if i’d rather be him or manon tbh i’m in love with both. and i love their growing relationship too. they seem to balance eachother out in the best way. like they were meant for eachother. and the same for lorcan and elide they are such a beautiful pairing. elide may be small and ‘lame’ but she’s every inch the ruthless and cunning warrior aelin and manon are. and she’s brought so much humanity to stone-cold “i hate everything and everyone” Lorcan. it’s so beautiful to see it all develop.
the 13. i swear i love them so much and i will be furious if anything happens to them. asterin has my heart. her love, her humanity, her soul…. she’s such a once in a lifetime character and i will always cherish her. she’s my babygirl. and abraxos, how is it possible to love him more and more with every appearance? he’s such a strong loyal beast. he reunited the 13
