I absolutely loved this book! It took me a minute to get into and really fall in love with, but that could have just been me not in the mood ya know?
Because once I really started reading, I was obsessed! Jasper is the epitome of a grumpy love interest and pairing that with him just desperately wanting to be the best parental figure to Sam just absolutely melted me. It was so nice watching him slowly realize that it’s okay to have his own feelings and rely on his family during the hardest part of his life. and seeing him get more comfortable with himself and as a dad was everything I wanted for him. And it’s definitely all because of Wendy.
Wendy is such a fun character! As someone who is always jotting little things down as ideas for a book one day, and someone who always wanted to work with kids, she was everything to me. I related so much to her character and to how she felt about her past relationships! She just is a girl who is desperate to be loved the way she deserves and finding Jasper when she did was perfect for her. I adored watching the two of them grow and how much Wendy helped Jasper be more confident but also how Jasper helped Wendy realize that her life and choices and interests matter.
I am so so excited to see if we get to go back to Never Harbor and which Davies sibling we get next! Cassidy and Marina perhaps? Izzy and Peter? I cant wait!!
