by Joy Harjo
This is the first of Joy Harjo's books I've read, and I can't wait to read more. Harjo's work is exemplary, with poetry and short passages full of reverence for the world and remembrance for things lost and times gone by. Standouts for me were "Returning from the Enemy" and "In the Beautiful Perfume and Stink of the World." This book deserves all the praise it gets and then some.
