Infernal Devices by Philip Reeve

3.0

Although I do adore this universe, I dont think I will be able to get over the character assian of Hester Shaw in this book and this kinda ruins the story a bit for me personally. It makes sense for Hester to act the way she is acting in the first and the second book, since she has been hurt badly before and she doesnt trust people easily, and I get that. But I feel like in Infernal Devices, its just taking it a bit too far and her extremely cold behaviour doesnt quite make sense to me anymore here (especially at the end). She literally runs away from her daughter abd her husband because "she is bored". I guess thats obviously not the full reason, and that she still has a lot of doubt and mistrust that causes her to act this way, and again, it makes sense that she feels this in the first two books. This one however, not so much.
