Amongst Women by John McGahern

So we’ll done. It’s told as a sedate story of a family but in truth the central character is a tyrant, controlling and bullying. He loves his family but his way of expressing it is damaging. Or does he love them? I think he does but that kind of love, I could do without. Good story, beautifully written, maybe not for everyone but I’m glad I read it.
