The Folcroft Ghosts
by Darcy Coates
This was soooo close to a 5 star read for me. Essentially what stopped it was that it was shorter then I wanted. The ending felt very rushed. After an incredible set up.
This book is technically YA which makes sense to me. As it follows a 15 year old girl and her 12 year old brother who's mom is in a coma so they get sent to live at their grandparents house in the middle of nowhere. Who they have never met or really even heard about. From their the sketchy things start to happen.
I love the set up and atmosphere of this book! The creepy house with creaking doors, the happy grandparents who "love" family!
I've started to notice Darcy uses the same plot devices all the time. But it hasn't affected my enjoyment yet.
If you want to hear about all of my thoughts there's a YouTube video on it. https://youtu.be/09wPI4fj2Mo
