The Walking Dead, Vol. 9: Here We Remain by Robert Kirkman
3.0
I'm getting bored, Robert. The formula is back with quick spikes in action and tragedy and calm. This is clearly an aftermath book and has some good moments for the characters it spotlights. That said, I just can't find myself liking Rick or Carl. I just don't really care what happens to them. Plus I'd already had one of the main plot twist of this book spoiled for me by the show.
On the bright side, there is a clear new beginning to the next big arc and it's kind of exciting. However, it centers around someone who knows how to end the zombie situation. Possibly the only person. And he's not doing anything to make sure there's a fail safe if he dies so someone else has the info? Stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. I am putting money down on how this ends up.
Honestly, though, this was the most bored I've been with the series. I get it, volume 8 was crazy, needed some time to reset, but I just didn't care about anything that happened in this.
