Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

Like many people I went into this with high hopes/expectations. This book was so hyped every time I heard someone talking about it and I had really liked her trilogy so I figured this must be good if its in the same world. I was not let down but this was not a 5 star book to me. I think the only reason it wasn't was because I think I enjoyed the trilogy more because I liked having the grisha as main characters more so than "average" people. I say "average" like that because our six main characters are anything but average. Leigh's writing is magnificent and her imagination, world building, and character building is phenomenal. I really did enjoy this book and I am so glad I read it. I would recommend reading the grisha trilogy first only to be able to walk into this book knowing the history of the grisha in order to help you understand situations and scenarios. That being said you don't have to if you don't want to because Leigh made sure it was still easily understandable and you still got the importance of things without having read the trilogy first.
