I enjoyed getting to know both Elsie and Ginny and how they had been best friends for most of their lives. Ginny has always been in love with Elsie, Elsie secretly also being in love with Ginny as well but not wanting to ruin their friendship. Where I caught up though was that I didn’t feel like Elsie’s reasoning was enough to keep her from pursuing something with Ginny, especially after Ginny asked Elsie to their school dance, making it pretty obvious about their feelings towards Elsie. I don’t know maybe that’s just me but I just felt like Elsie’s reasoning needed just a little more emotional weight behind it. I also felt like the conflict with the 3rd act breakup stretched out really long and we didn’t see them get back together until the very last chapter of the book. I would have liked to see more of their relationship in their would outside of the “honeymoon.” That would have been fun to see! Overall it was a good read but not an unforgettable read for me.
