Such an interesting topic and a fascinating glimpse into a complex figure in psychiatric history! I really enjoyed this, and found that a lot of parts read like fiction — I kept forgetting that this was all real, especially the beginning. I will say that I got lost at a few points as the narrative bounces around in time, so it was sometimes difficult to remember what had happened and what was something that had been mentioned previously but only explored now. This might have been because I was listening to it on audio rather than reading it, but it did feel a bit cyclical at times. However, I maintained my interest in the narrative throughout the book, and feel like I learned quite a bit. Definitely check this out if you’re into psychology research or the paranormal!
