I did like how the author portrayed the challenging emotions of an unhappy mother married to a mediocre man, and at times I identified a lot with Merit, but mostly I was so frustrated with her. I just couldn't feel the chemistry between the two main characters which was so annoying because I really wanted to.  My biggest issue with this book however is the ending. The most important part of the story and character development was just skipped over and you randomly in the last line of the book find out what happens and I felt so cheated. It had so much potential and just hit all the wrong places and really missed the mark for me.
