A Proper Charade by Esther Hatch
3.0
A good book – 3.5 stars! Characters were decently written (especially the loveable rogue Lord Bryant) though the premise and the end were a little weak. The last minute reintroduction of Miss Morgan as an antagonist was a hit and miss, especially since it wasn't well developed. The whole 'Patience never lies' trope was AWFUL, I wanted to omit that entirely since there is no part of this book during which we rely on her word (and she's a liar, because, faking your identity and all is lying and that was doomed from the get–go). But in general Patience and Antony were likeable leads, with their matching personalities of mischievousness and seriousness; their chemistry was good; the duchess–y slips were entertaining, and this was a satisfying read overall.
