As someone who fully agrees with the controversy surrounding Me Before You and didn’t enjoy it, I was hesitant to read this book even though I’ve heard good things over the years. So glad I finally picked it up (shoutout to my besties who suggested it as a group listen driving around The Big Island when we were on our girls’ trip in Hawaii).

I absolutely loved this story and these characters. I listened to 70% on audio (which was really good) but switched to physical to finish it up a bit faster on a plane. I love historical fiction that teaches you about a piece of history you didn't know about - and one about badass women and BOOKS, at that! I loved getting to know all the players in the town and just existing with the librarians as they went on their deliveries. Took off a star because the plot is a bit all over the place and because the writing style is a bit too "hit you over the head" with some of the themes for my taste, but overall I still really, really liked this one.
