Looking for Group

I’m DNF-ing this LOL.
I was so excited for this book. An MM romance centered around an MMORPG??? Count me in! FFXIV has been my lifeblood for the past like 2-3 years… so imagine my surprise when it’s the first book I ever DNF.
I just cannot get interested. Like sure, they’re cute. I guess. The book doesn’t feel like it was written in 2025, it feels like it was written in the early 2010’s. Maybe it was? I don’t know.
75% of the book is the group fighting in raids. Which, I understand, is important, because they’re raiders, of course. But jeez, it drags on *so long.*
The characters are cute and accurate of an MMORPG raiding group. Some are older, some are younger, some are male, and a few are female. So that was nice.
Also, it was painfully British. There were a few moments where I had to pause and look up terms because they were slang terms for stuff I had no idea of. (See: what the actual hell is a numpty and who CALLS someone that)
The awkwardness of the two was endearing, at least. That was one pro.
But if I have to read through another long excerpt of how they’re fighting against [x] mob in [y] dungeon I think I will just go insane.
(Also: personal gripe. I read this on a kindle— this book is not e-reader friendly. The formatting gets messed up and many of the emojis used in the text messages are just not shown.)
