Playing Cupid
by Jenny Meyerhoff
This is definitely a scraping the bottom of the barrel, trying to find the shortest books on my shelf to finish before the new year so I can complete my reading goal, kinda book. Everything about it is so cliche and unoriginal. The struggles Clara faces are unoriginal and underdeveloped, as are the other characters. Despite this it’s not a completely horribly read and the resolution is satisfying and tidy.
Playing Cupid is not a book I would ever choose when given the choice but it beats boredom and contains a relatively good lesson about the dangers of being shallow and self-centred, 2.5/5 stars
