A sultry and vivid novel that describes the nauseously addicting obsession of a sapphic crush. More vibes and atmosphere than story, the writing of this book was an unexpected delight. With no quotation marks or even line breaks to indicate dialogue, this reads as a singular fluid stream of consciousness, short sentences enjambed to convey the racing interior world of the protagonist. It was a very bold choice and I imagine many people would not like it but I thought it was executed quite well, and surprisingly easy to follow. The pacing felt good, the progression of the story isn’t as much of a focus as the obsession with intimacy, sexuality and gender roles. The prose felt decadent, like long form poetry, which almost always results in a terrible book but I think this one is an exception.
