This is the second book of Madeline Miller’s I have read and she lived up to the high standard she set with “The Song of Achilles”. This book however, was much slower, due to it’s circumstances. Despite the pace, this retelling of Circe’s story was rooted in feminist theory, mythology, and contemporary style. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Greek mythology, lovers of gender studies and feminism, and anyone who thinks being a witch on a remote island sounds like a good time :).
