A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
3.0

Not bad.
It felt really fast paced, but that may have been due to me listening to it on 2.5x speed. The romance was a bit overpowering, I didn't realize the book was more a romance than anything else. The settings were amazing, so vivid and unique, and so many vastly different settings. I feel like an idiot for not seeing the plot twist coming (**spoiler** I mean, it was pretty obvious that Theo was going to end up being the bad guy, though I honestly couldn't figure out how (he seemed so nice the whole time...), and even though there were tons of hints, I didn't figure it out until right at the moment that the main character figured it out. That's always fun~).
The plot itself had some holes (unless I'm too dumb to figure them out?). Eg. Why would the Triad company waste resources on making the main character "special", instead of just kidnapping her or something and using her as a hostage (since I think that's all they wanted from her in the first place...?)? And, why did Theo drag her on some big adventure to find Paul, instead of just bringing her to Triad?? And...jesus, why did she spend so long in Russia? Couldn't she have found a way to leave, somehow...? She could have at least tried >.> she seemed awfully quick to give up and resign herself to waiting.
*sigh*
lots of flaws. Also, the main character was a bit vapid at times. Also, why exactly does everyone love her? I guess "love doesn't need a reason", but still...not sure what was so special about her. What about her sister? Why didn't anyone love her? OH, also, how did Triad know that everyone loved her?? Paul and Theo never said anything >.>
Anyway, three stars, because it was a fun adventure, hardly any dull moments, and it was short enough that I didn't waste too much time on it :)
