But I feel that the author wore their politics on their sleeve the entire time and continued to remind us every couple of chapters that they were very liberal and correct indeed.
The end really saved this, even though I feel that it veered into body horror way more than needed.
I will say that the twist at the end of the girl carrying the new spore around the world in some kind of weird effort to save it was both interesting and silly. Also, I felt that this book couldn't decide if it wanted to be a murder mystery or a horror novel. This had two to stories within it, and I'm not sure they meshed well. However, I was spot on. It was an alien
