I appreciate the new take on the classic snow white and rumplestilskin stories that this book offers. However, that was not enough to keep me engaged in the story. I was a bit bored and would have considered DNFing if it wasn’t such an easily readable book. I was moving very quickly through the story which is a plus. I just felt like the story didn’t really delve very deeply into the character relationships so it was hard to be invested. It was hard to believe the main romantic relationship in the story when the two characters barely interacted in the entire story. And a major character death felt like it was basically glossed over. It might just be that this short format of fairytale fantasy is just not for me though. Maybe someone else who’s really into those elements will enjoy the story more.
