Ethan of Athos by Lois McMaster Bujold
3.0

I like it. I mean, at first I was hesitant to read it, because a world without women and a man meting women for the first time and so on and so on - this could be very bad/preachy. But, the author handled it very well (Why did I doubt her?) and I had a lot of fun reading this.

I really like Ethan and I hope he'll pop up in one of the future books.

Elli - I guess, I should have known her from "The Warriors' Apprentice" but apparently it's been too long since I've read it. *shrugs* I really like her and how she deals with things. :)

Terrence Cee is an interesting character and I hope that we meet him again too.

All the little things of running a space station - Ecocontrol. How oxygen is produced and the consequences. And so on. <3

Also canon - a planet with a mostly gay population. The fact it's recognized on Athos that child rearing is hard work and costs more money than is actually paid. The fact it's recognized on Athos that people can be in livelong platonic relationships. Sex changes are normal for/on some colonies.

Yeah, liked it. :)
