Ludik and the Runaway Mountain by John Ilho

4.0

This was such a quick read for me. I truly got sucked into this story.

While at first the time skips confused me and the pacing took me off guard a little, once I got further into the story it all seemed to come together in a comprehensive way. There were some plot twists and character behavior reveals that surprised me, if anything it kept me on my toes even more.

Ludik was so strong and yet so naive, he went through so much in such a small period of time. I really liked seeing the way he came into himself and his power. The treespeak I thought was especially fun!

Brinn is such a strong, independent, woman and I truly love her for it. The way she was always the voice of negotiation for the group was so entertaining. She was fully in her take no shit era.

All in all, this was a quick paced story with multiple points of view that is based on worlds that have five categories of magical talent. I definitely enjoyed reading it.
