An interesting expose on European diplomacy in probably the most diplomatically interesting period of European history. Taylor’s manner is subtle, but often funny, and he’s very good at drawing unique and thoughtful comparisons between situations and differing attitudes towards them.
But I guess just didn’t leave THAT much of an impression on me. I certainly liked it and found it interesting, but I couldn’t say that I loved it. Sometimes it feels a bit too dense, but then again it’s a serious topic that is treated with the gravity it deserves.
