I enjoyed Hello Stranger by Katherine Center. The story centers around a unique plot featuring an artist named Sadie, who has prosopagnosia, or facial blindness. Throughout the book, this condition shapes her interactions while highlighting her familial issues in between. With this in mind, Sadie serves as an unreliable narrator while navigating her ups and downs in a way that may make her seem hard to love. However, I found moments to empathize with her, especially as she uses humor to cope with her experiences. The author has done thorough research where she helps the reader visualize what living with this diagnosis is like. The plot itself is quite interesting, and I appreciated the unexpected twists that emerged as the story approached its conclusion. Although some readers may find the final moments hard to believe, it ultimately aligns with the imaginative nature of fiction.
