Okay somehow from the blurb and the cover I thought his was magical realism or fantasy. It’s not. But it’s still an interesting premise that only revealed itself further for compelling family secrets. CW for abusive parents. I also loved the way the romance unfolded in that perfect YA kind of way. My issue is that the end didn’t carry the same weight and fairytale kind of writing the rest of it did. This was so gripping until it ended in a lukewarm place (still a romance with an HEA though and I felt closure just not enough).
