Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling
4.0
Despite a couple of instances of language that really hasn’t aged well and the colonial baggage that Mr Kipling brings with him by virtue of existing, these are a fantastic collection of stories. Reading them feels like eavesdropping on a storytelling session delivered to very small children and the tone, while never really patronising, does talk down to its audience a little, but what can you expect in a volume subtitled “for very small children”? They are an inventive and entertaining bunch of stories and I feel better for having read them.
