The Lost Ticket by Freya Sampson

There's a lot I liked about this book: the setting (London), the general plot, the sweetness of the characters and their relationships...

However, this book just didn't win me over 100% like it did so many other reviewers, and I can't really tell you why.

It's a heartwarming story about finding your path in life, even when it's challenging. There's a cute old grandpa, a punk rocker, and a quirky female protagonist. What's not to love?

I think perhaps it was the slowness of the plot that caused me to lose interest. I also found many of the plot points to be predictable, and although I normally don't mind that in a romance story, I saw wasted potential to do something more revolutionary with this novel.

Anyway, this is pretty much a solid three-star read for me. Enjoyed it, but didn't fall head over heels or anything.
