Personally. I loved this book! An easy 5 star read. I was worried that with the genre change from her other books I wasn’t going to like this one as much, but boy was I wrong! I was expecting there to be tension between species, obviously, but what I was not expecting was the banter and relatability from the characters. I was happy to see the incorporation of the “nerdy”/STEM aspects I’m used to in Ali Hazlewood’s books.

I love how she took a familiar paranormal concept but made it different and interesting. Misery and Lowe are NOT your typical “I hate you simply bc we’re supposed to be enemies” characters.

Misery very well may be my new favorite Ali Hazlewood female.
