This was not my favorite romance read. Ultimately, I had trouble getting into it because I was not a fan of the main male character. I didn’t mind his

attachment to his ex lasting longer than anticipated (things like that feel realistic to me)

, but it was more his personality in general felt very basic, bland, and possessive in a way that I couldn’t get into. It could possibly be from not reading any of the previous books in the series, which might have given me more insight, but I just didn’t enjoy this read enough to try others by the same author. It could definitely be a match for others, but it wasn’t for me.
