Algedonic by r.h. Sin
3.0

Sin’s work always irritates me a bit in that I often feel condescended to by his repeated use of the word “deserve,” and in particular his continued insistence about what women “deserve.” That said, every one of his collections that I’ve read always, always has flashes of absolute brilliance, and this one is no exception. Sin has a way of distilling concepts down to a single, striking image and leaving me unable to imagine a better conception of a nebulous idea. There are some true gems here, particularly in the first section of the book, that more than make up for the small annoyances that irk me.
