I loved this book and so much and I’m so glad it got me out of my reading slump!! I love love love sports romances and this one is definitely going to be a new favorite series!

To start off the romance was so cute! I loved Pippa and Jamie’s relationship! They are so supportive of each other and seeing them both encourage each other to stand up for themselves and achieve their dreams was so lovely. While this book did have a lot of spice the characters still had a meaningful and beautiful connection with eachother. I really loved the aspect of them secretly liking each other in high school and then reuniting later on. Invisible string theory is always perfect. Daisy, their dog, was also an adorable addition to this book!! She was so cute and silly and really helped bring our two characters together.

For the sports side I loved it so much! I really enjoy hockey so I really liked reading all the scenes from the games! I like the found family aspect that Jamie has with his team and coach and I love that they took the time to get to know and befriend Pippa as well! I LOVED Rory so much and I’m so looking forward to his book which is next!!

For Pippa’s music, I like that she has a more unique interest than typical FMCs! I also loved that she ended up standing up to her awful ex boyfriend and that she worked really hard to make her dreams come true on her own. Her story within her career is a perfect example of perseverance even when people tell you you’re not good enough or when things get bad.

I enjoyed the anxiety representation with Jamie’s mom. Not only did it bring awareness to how it can effect someone’s life but it also demonstrated how it can effect their family and friend’s lives as well.

I really loved this book. I rated it 4.5 stars instead of 5 just because the characters weren’t my all time favorites I’ve ever read and the storyline wasn’t really something that I just absolutely loved. The pet name “songbird” also gave me a little bit of an ick I fear.

But overall this book was so good! I’m so excited to read the rest of the series as well as other books by this author! Definitely a new favorite sports romance.
