I've had a lot of people recommend the show Longmire to me, so I thought I'd try one of the books in the series first before giving the show a try.

I really liked the character Longmire, and the supporting cast of characters was great too. The book nails small-town atmosphere, with all the good and bad that entails. The crime itself was interesting, and the setting in Wyoming was a nice change of pace from most mysteries.

My only problem is I thought the ending was disappointing and out-of-character for the murderer. I still really liked the book, but that frustrated me because I had been enjoying how the book was avoiding lazy mystery tropes, and then it just relied on one to wrap stuff up.

Am now curious to give the show a try next.
