Loved this start to finish. A fascinating exploration of language, art, and the question of ownership of all these entangled in the net of colonialism. It manages to both honestly and seriously convey the impact both the repressive community on the island and the reductive outside perceptions into the island have. But it is also a genuinely funny book, full of witty yet realistic dialogues that never feel too quippy or  distracting from to what the book is trying to say.
