The overall vibe of the All Souls Trilogy is - love is love. Gender, race, whatever, isn't relevant.
I also love All Souls queer vibe. Although the protagonists aren't queer, there's surrounding queer characters that are shown in really positive ways - I want to see more books normalising different relationships/attitudes.
Definitely some trigger warnings for this book!
