The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This was my first Ashley Poston novel… and I’m already wondering why I waited so long to dive into her world. ✨

I went in expecting a sweet, time-bending romance - and while yes, the romance is lovely, what truly surprised me was how delicately Poston explores grief, healing, and the messiness of moving on. Wrapped up in lemon pie, soft banter, and magical realism are some truly profound, quietly devastating reflections on love and loss.

Clementine is guarded, grieving, and trying to stick to a carefully controlled plan for her life - until she meets Iwan, the charming, barefoot man suddenly standing in her kitchen… who just so happens to be living seven years in the past. (Did I mention her late aunt’s apartment might just be a wrinkle in time?)

Their connection is heartfelt and slow-burning, but what really made me fall for this book were the moments in between - the deep thoughts gently tucked into the narrative, the reminders that timing is everything, and that sometimes, the biggest kind of love is the one you give back to yourself.

This was whimsical, moving, and unexpectedly cathartic. I finished it feeling a little softer and a little more hopeful.
