Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid
I honestly don't know how I feel about this book. The opening was strong and I couldn't put the book down. However, there are major issues. The dialogue is stilted and that is being kind. I felt like the character of Alix was more fleshed out than Emira who seemed to have no personality at all. Also, the inciting incident that Reid spends so much time building up to is a let down. When I got to the reveal just thought, "That's it?" The first half of the book is stronger than the second. While I wanted to know how to book ended, I didn't care about any of the characters and the prose was just poor. I couldn't rate it.
