Oh god this is the book that really delves into the tragedy of it all, doesn't it huh? I cried several times. What do you mean Jiang Yanli came to Wei Wuxian to ask him to name her child. And it was Jiang Chang's idea? AND I'M SUPPOSE TO BE OKAY AFTER READING THAT?
Also poor WWX falling for Lan Zhan thinking he doesn't stand a chance meanwhile Lan Zhan had lewd thoughts about WWX pretty much since the moment he met him when they were like 16.
It's really impressive how MXTX is managing switching between these three timelines. And I'm happy for it because if I'd have to read the entire demonic path and slow descent to madness of WWX without having these moments of ease from the present? Or these heavy moments from the present not have interrupted by some light scenes from the past? Like it would be emotionally so much harder to read. But doing it like this is doable.
Anyway one last book to go.
